Mike Caro Basic Strategy

“When I was much younger, I was ready to pass a lot of miles to play against the most sophisticated players. I could quit an easy game to play more complex. I like the challenge, which is hidden in these games, and I told myself that playing with the best opponents I can improve my gaming skills.

Yes, I’ve survived this long, chaotic period in my life. In fact, before I began to write, lecture and conduct research relating to poker, I did not have any other work. Poker was all for me for 14 years. And over the years, much of the time I spent on the forehead with the most experienced players, whom ever knew the world.
I teased my brain thinking how do I hone my skills, complicating my gaming life. But actually, I have too much time devoted to “hone” and too little to obtain the real profit from the gaming skills already possessed. Well, I am proud to announce that I’ve survived in the company of first-class players, and made money. More precisely, did the appearance of money. I say “did the appearance”, because you should compare the amount of money that you won to the amount you could won, and if this number is less than the difference between these two values, the time is, I think, to say about the loss.

And, of course, I might win much more money if it spent more time playing with weaker opponents. So, lesson learned. Move forward. Life is established. ”

It was a 22 lecture read at the University of poker, gambling and life strategies of Mike Caro. The lecture was specially edited for the magazine Card Player.
